This means a gaze capable of bringing out the latent vulnerability of the bodies and everyday objects that inhabit the artist’s lived experience. She focuses her attention upon the areas that serve as boundaries between the self and the other — and, in particular, upon the skin, understood as an opening between one’s body and the outside world, which conceals the mystery of the living. The long gestation of Chiara Enzo’s work allows her to transform everyday images, taken from photographs, into paintings with porous surfaces, capable of holding onto the gaze that skims across them.
In her small-format paintings, bodies appear in a sincere, raw, sensual nudity, which is stripped of all idealisation. This exhibition has the critical intention of isolating one of the dominant notes of her
artistic research — i.e. its matrix in a certain feeling for the body, understood as the poetic code of a generation. The chosen interpretative key is completed with the creation of a display that denies that painting should be made to conform to the standard of a museum object, instead reconnecting it to the raw reality of the image. To consult his portfolio read here.

“Portfolio” is one of the two exhibition cycles of the program Quotidiana at the Museo di Roma- Palazzo Braschi conceived and produced by La Quadriennale di Roma in collaboration with City of Rome, Department of Culture – Superintendency for Cultural Heritage.
